Water

Since the beginning of last century, Perlen Papier AG has been in possession of numerous rights to use the water of the river Reuss in our plant canal and the utilisation of ground water in “Schachen”. The water to manufacture paper is exclusively sourced from our in-house spring which also supplies the entire village of Perlen.

Thanks to closed water circulation we are able to use the required water in an optimal way and to keep the fresh water requirements at a low level. The industrial wastewater is run into our in-house wastewater treatment plant where it is mechanically-biologically cleaned (CSB-freight between *ARA Buholz/Luzern and ARA Bern) and then redirected into the in-house sewage plant by observing the water pollution control decree (GeschV).
